The Mentor/Mentee Benefit—Writer Unboxed Redirect

I’m excited today for two reasons. First, I have the honor to be guest-posting at Writer Unboxed. WU is not just my favorite writing blog, hosting some of my favorite bloggers as regular contributors, it’s the home-base of my tribe. If you haven’t already heard the tale of how I found WU, became involved, and what it means to me, take a look at my first post there, Community—What’s In It For Me.

The second reason I’m excited is the topic of today’s WU post. This article gives me a chance to share one of my greatest writing assets: my mentor and editor extraordinaire, Cathy Yardley of Rock Your Writing. So don’t waste any more time over here. Go read all about it on WU. Go on, scoot! More posts to come here soon. See you here then.

What a beautiful tribute to WU, Cathy, and mentoring. All of my favorite writing influences in one place (that includes you, Vaughn.) 🙂 You are going to be busy today with all the replies! Lol.

    • I think you’re right, D! Busy afternoon ahead, but what a wonderful thing to be busy doing!

I guess we’ll just have to keep trading off on who’s the mentor and who’s the mentee, D. Thanks for all your support and inspiration! 🙂

Great post, Vaughn! I haven’t run into many authors who have worked with mentors, so that was interesting. I’m glad you found a way to thrust your story forward. I’m a firm believer in not giving up on stories once that seed has been planted and I’m thoroughly impressed that you went through so many rewrites and continued to push forward. Very admirable 😀 Keep it up, I know it’ll be a huge success!

    • Over the years there were times when it was hard to keep believing. The mentorship kept the project alive, more than once. Thanks for your inspiration and faith, Margaret! 🙂

Keep it up, Vaughn! I’m following Cathy’s blog and just realized she was the same coach you were talking about, lol. She seems like a fun person, glad she’s with you!
